360° “point and shoot” cameras are for amateurs?

There is a lot of opinion in the panoramic photography world that the new wave of point and shoot 360° cameras are for amateurs who can easily learn to point and click to enter the various aspects of the VR market (like creating Google Street View tours) watering down the market for true pros using DSLRs on panoheads the “old way”. Although the DSLR still gives the most professional results we have found that cameras like the relatively new Theta Z1 when used in the hands of a knowledgeable photographer can give professional results. This video below does a great job of showing the contradiction in how “easy” it is for amateurs to handle a “point and shoot” 360° camera effectively.
